General notes:
The plans for this bridge have been submitted by Moxon for the final phase of a 1.1 biilion euro 15-year plan to increase the capacaity of the Port of Dublin. The bridge would significantly improve road access to the port allowing for the anticipated increase in road traffic which would result from the expansion of the port. The proposed bridge would be a single leaf bascule with counterweights above the roadway.

Moxon have worked with engineering firm COWI - Structural engineers - to develop the concept and with 3FM Consultant RPS. It is hoped to complete construction in the early 2030s.

in addition to relieving congestion on the nearby Tom Clarke bridge the route would also form part of the 7km cycle and pedestrian routes across the Poolbeg Peninsula and the River Liffey.

The total length of the bridge will be 217.4m including an opening span with a length of 22.4m. Bridge width will be 22.4m.
